What age can I start Drivers Ed?
Teens can start Drivers Ed at 15 years old. However, you can start as early as 14 years old, as long as you turn 15 during the course.
When can I start driving?
Before we (or your parents) can get you behind the wheel for driving lessons, you will need to get a permit. In order to get a permit, you will need visit the DMV and pass a written exam. You will not be able to take the exam until you enroll into a drivers education program, so do not head to the DMV without registering with us first.
What is your refund policy?
Refunds are issued up to the first day of class. There is a non-refundable registration fee that is not returned. Additional fees may apply.
How long will the class take to complete?
Our classroom generally last between 5 and 8 weeks – depending on the class. Since you will need to complete a total of 30 classroom hours, we schedule them for two hours each session, 2-3 days a week. Behind the Wheel is scheduled separately and is by appointment.
When can I get a license?
Once you are 16 years old and have completed our course. Also, teens need to keep a permit for at least nine (9) months before they are eligible to take the road test to obtain a license.
*In addition to the 6 hours of BTW with our school, teens need to complete 50 hours of driving with a parent. This time needs to include 10 hours of driving at night and needs to be logged.
Additional Information :
*Illinois Law requires students to be passing a minimum of eight (8) classes in high school before they can obtain a license. We will need a copy of a recent report card on record before we can notify the Secretary of State of your completion.
